My name is Zulnurain Ahmad and I am a kindergarten teacher at Gobind Sarvar School Calgary. I became interested in teaching when I first met my daughter’s preschool teacher. Early Years is my passion and I am always looking for ways to make my students be the best that they can be.

Hello! My name is Ms. Harrang and this is my second-year teaching at Gobind Sarvar. I graduated from University of Calgary with specializing in early childhood B.Ed. and Sociology degree. I love facilitating and watching young minds grow into wonderful readers, writer, Global citizens, mathematicians, scientists, artists; whatever their passion is. I strongly believe in human beings as a one nation. No matter what grade I teach, I always guide my students to love one another without seeing any difference amongst us. Moreover, I love being in nature therefore I let nature to be the first teacher for my kindergarteners. My goal is to always create a fun and safe learning environment for children, and get them ready for grade 1! I Feel blessed to be at Gobind Sarvar where student centered environment really helps our students grow to be tomorrow’s guides.


Hi! My name is Ms. G and I am teaching kindergarten this year and it has been quite the learning experience so far! Now let’s get the real credentials out of the way first, I graduated from Mount Royal University in 2009 with a degree in Criminology and Justice. The second degree I earned is in Education with a specialization in Elementary English Language Arts. In my spare time, I enjoy writing and watching Netflix. Hi everyone! my name is Mrs. Brar and this is my third year at Gobind Sarvar School. I have substituted for a few years with two young children and I have also taught Kindergarten before teaching Grade 1. I feel really blessed to be a part of this school since the beginning and I have seen a lot of growth and changes here. I am extremely excited to welcome the kids into this new academic year. I would like to add that this year will be full of exciting new challenges and obstacles and we will overcome all those by focusing on our learning and growth: both academically and spiritually. We are going to have a fabulous school year full of fun and learning. I can only begin to imagine what these few months ahead will bring for us!

My name is Aakanchie Mahajan and this is my 6th year of teaching. I have taught around the world and in various cultural settings. I am originally from Toronto but Calgary is now home. Teaching is my chosen calling and I believe in teaching with passion to be effective. At Gobind Sarvar I believe in getting students involved in their learning by being inventive with my teaching methods and using various active learning techniques in my classroom. I have had a wonderful and successful year teaching Math and Science to students of grade 6 & 7.

My name is Mrs. Obhi and teach grade 6,7,8 Language Arts and 7 social studies. I am originally from Winnipeg where I did my B.A. and then moved to Calgary where I received my B.Ed. from the University of Calgary. I have been working and living in Calgary for the past 10 years. I am a wife and a mother to a beautiful boy with whom I enjoy spending time on my days off.

I was born in Edmonton, Alberta, but spent half of my childhood and most of my teaching career in Regina. While my background is in history, social studies, psychology and law, I taught several years working with students in grade seven and eight. I have had an extensive coaching history having coached basketball for community, high school, university and provincial organizations and soccer at various levels. After leaving Regina, I held many positions at the Canadian International in Abu Dhabi. My last position was as the principal of a grade seven to twelve school in British Columbia teaching and running the school.
Last year I had the good fortune to be a guest teacher at Gobind Sarvar school. This is where I met a wonderful group of students and a very caring and hard-working staff.
Teaching provides the opportunity to promote respect for all things and people. In addition to working collaboratively with a great team of students, staff and parents, I look forward to sharing my passion for education in the classroom and during extracurricular activities.

My name is Alex Chung and I’m excited to be joining Gobind Sarvar as a Diverse Learning Teacher for the 2019-2020 school year! I have taught in many schools across Southern Alberta and taught Grades 3, 4, and Elementary Music. My hobbies include playing violin, guitar, working with computers, and running. I love working with my students and am looking forward to a great year working with staff, parents, and students.
