Gobind Sarvar is a fully accredited independent school in the province of Alberta. Our academic curriculum meets the standards of Alberta Education. In addition we offer a program that integrates Sikhi, Gurmukhi and Gurmat along with academics, sports, technology and arts.
Yes, there is a uniform. We believe that a uniform is necessary so that all of our students look consistent in their dress code.
All of our classes are taught in English and students are encouraged to speak English in these classes. When students are in Gurmukhi class, students naturally engage in Punjabi at that time. However for all academic subjects the instructional language is English.
If you are submitting your application online, you can pay the Registration Fee online using either a debit or credit card (otherwise it can be paid by credit or card over the phone, among other options). Applications can only be processed once the Registration Fee has been paid.
At the moment, we are accepting applications for Grades K to 8. However, in the future we may expand our grades.
Gobind Sarvar has small class sizes to ensure that students have a supportive learning environment. For our Kindergarten classes the class size is around 20 students, and for Grades 1 to 8 the class size is around 22 students.
Parents are an important part of the school. Parents are welcome and encouraged to participate in many school activities including volunteering, PAC (Parent Advisory Committee) membership and community events. Parents can volunteer in the classroom, on field trips and special school events.
