Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa! Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!
My name is Karamjit Kaur Seran and I feel blessed to be given the opportunity to serve at Gobind Sarvar as a principal. I would like to share a glimpse of my life with you. I was born in India, grew up in Winnipeg and did all of my education from University of Winnipeg. As a child, I was always interested in science and therefore pursed my passion and got my first degree in science (Bachelor of Science in Chemistry). I then started thinking about the best ways to utilize my degree and to share the knowledge I have gained. Maharaj je then put the thought of becoming a teacher and led my way and helped me get my second degree “Bachelor of Education”.
My journey of teaching started in 2007, the same year we moved here in Calgary. I have taught for almost ten years. Over these years, I got to teach many grades and learn so much from my students and colleagues. At Gobind Sarvar, my goal will be to become partners with you and our wonderful teachers to offer the best possible education to all of our students in a caring and nurturing environment.
Our mission at Gobind Sarvar is to inspire our students to become authentic life-long learners by providing a safe, nurturing environment focused on inquisitive thinking, self-exploration, and holistic growth.
At Gobind Sarvar, we are dedicated to an inquiry based learning that promotes academic excellence, life-long learning, creativity and critical thinking. At the same time, we hope to inspire the young minds of our students to follow Guru Granth Sahib Ji’s teachings and to live their life upon the principles of Gurbani and stay connected to their Sikh heritage.
Education is a joint venture between school and home. It is the goal of the staff at Gobind Sarvar to work with you to create a rich learning environment for all students. Your contributions will be much appreciated through volunteer time and support of school activities and celebrations. I look forward to working with you and developing a relationship that will assist in the growth of your child/children.
