Gobind Sarvar was blessed with the opportunity to host students and staff from Elizabeth Barrett School (Cochrane). Two classes of Grade 2 and 3 students spent the day at Gobind Sarvar School on March 21 and 22. Gobind Sarvar students were paired up with students from Elizabeth Barrett School and shared some Sikh beliefs and traditions. Students also collectively visited the Darbar Sahib and learned about Sikhi. The visit ended off with students playing games that are similar across Canadian and Punjabi cultures. As a teacher from Elizabeth Barrett School said: "The kids were visibly excited, I think they were just so energized by the experience" (Cochrane Eagle, March 29, 2018).
"The biggest lesson was reaffirming that there are more similarities than differences among people, and that it shouldn't matter what culture or faith you come from."
(Cochrane Eagle, March 29, 2018)
